This is an excerpt from a Klaine/Faberry fic I’m working on. It’s an AU based on the movie The Holiday, and if you haven’t seen the movie this scene contains a rather large spoiler for both the film and the fic. I just wanted to get some feedback, and this is my favorite scene of the ones I’ve written so far. Constructive criticism is always appreciated!

Blaine Anderson [Character Study Tribute] (by InspirationxStrikes)

I’ve seen various people bitching about the fact that Blaine/Darren’s faces during his performance of “Cough Syrup” took away from the gravity of David’s scenes. I strongly disagree, and this video helps to show why. Even though we don’t know all of Blaine’s story yet, I feel like we know enough. His father doesn’t accept him for who he is. He was forced to leave school because of extreme bullying. He has struggled to come to terms with who he is. I watched this scene (through a lot of tears) and when Blaine/Darren was on screen I was just as moved as I was by David’s story.

As is often the case with this character, Blaine’s story was being told in the background. He poured himself into this song, body and soul. Blaine has admitted that he’s not good with words, that he expresses himself better through music. This performance, to an audience that consisted solely of the boy he loves, was Blaine laying it all on the line. It feels a little bit like we are intruding on a very private moment between these two characters. This is Blaine making himself vulnerable to Kurt at a time when things are clearly not all sunshine and puppies in his world. He appears hurt and angry and tense throughout much of the episode, and this song is how he chooses to let some of that out, to let his boyfriend know that he needs some hope that things are going to get better.

I am almost done with the first chapter of my Klaine/Faberry fic. It’s an AU based on the movie The Holiday, and I am in need of a beta reader ASAP. I know some people were saying it was Kurt, BUT LOOK AT HIS ANKLES!! Pants that aren’t quite long enough. No socks. Ladies and Gents, Blainers is back to spend Valentine’s Day with Kurt!

Holy sweet Mother of All…I am in awe of everything about this story. If you’ve somehow missed this fic like I had until yesterday, do yourself a favor and go read it.

I’ve now read three fics in which that song featured in a big moment for Kurt and Blaine. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the song, and it’s been used beautifully every time. I just find it amusing that it was used in three completely different fics for the same pairing.

Started planning out a new Klaine/Faberry fic based on The Holiday, inspired by Gina last night :) I’ll probably have the first chapter done by tomorrow!

I have this Klaine headcanon moment that I really want to see happen when they’re at Dalton again. I have no idea what all the ND kids are doing there, but I want Kurt to pull Blaine away from the group and take him to the common room where they first kissed. Blaine has no idea what’s happening, but he’s happy to follow Kurt wherever he wants to go. Then I just want them to have this lovely, sentimental, “look how far we’ve come” moment where they hold hands and kiss in the place where it all started.
